About Friendly Machine

John HannahHi, my name is John Hannah and I've been creating websites professionally since 2000. I'm also the guy that writes this blog.

Although what I write here is mostly about the Drupal content management system, I also discuss marketing, content strategy and other areas of interest for people that love building great websites.

How I Got Here

My first break came when I redesigned a website as an intern for the Idaho State Library. Six months later I was working for a Seattle HR consultancy where I strengthened my design skills and was introduced to web marketing.

In 2004, I began working with the University of Arizona. A few years later I picked up a MBA from Arizona State University, which helps explain my strong interest in the business side of websites. By fall of 2011, I was ready to do my own thing and started a Tucson web design consultancy, Redpoint Web Marketing.

The Friendly Machine blog is an expression of my passion for building websites. My hope is that this passion translates into posts that readers find educational, insightful and on a good day, maybe even entertaining.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, suggestions or hysterical rants.
